Fishing

Whether you are fishing by boat or on land the Bayou Vermilion District has plenty of spots to launch your boat or to set up your tackle and cast away.

Vermilionville

The Bayou Vermilion District’s Vermilionville has a number of areas to fish from whether in the Bayou or our retention ponds. If river fishing is more your style, Vermilionville has a dock located right at the river just outside the historic park. We also have a retention pond that has numerous types of fish in it complete with benches surrounding the pond.

Beaver Park

Beaver Park is operated and maintained through a partnership between the Beaver Club of Lafayette, City of Lafayette and the Bayou Vermilion District. This public park is located right off of the Evangeline Thwy and is complete with a boat launch, pavilion, retention pond for fishing, benches for relaxing and is part of the Attakapas Ishak Trail. There are also public bathrooms and parking.
