WALTER MOUTON & THE SCOTT PLAYBOYS

This is the quintessential Cajun dance band. They are cultural icons in the world of Cajun music. Ironically, they are less known outside of Louisiana, on the festival circuit, because they have not travelled much. But it would be difficult to find a more influential Cajun band today. Young musicians, including Bruce Daigrepoint, Christine Balfa and Dirk Powell, Wayne Toups and Steve Riley, regularly make their way to the La Poussière dance hall in Breaux Bridge to listen to their smooth, flawless performances. A perfectionist in the tradition of Lawrence Walker, Walter Mouton keeps the band humming with its tight, hard-driving sound.
