Performance Center

Looking for a different setting for your next event?  Vermilionville offers a unique event/reception hall modeled after an old cotton gin!   It features tables and ladder-back chairs, a stage, sound system, old cypress dance floor and full service bar.  To ensure your comfort, the building is climate-controlled with central air and heat, accented with numerous ceiling fans.  Depending on the requirements for the event, the Performance Center can accommodate up to 300 guests.  Plasticware for functions is standard in the Performance Center.  China service available with some limitations.  Ask us about larger events done “open pavilion” style!

 

Chapel (La Chapelle des Attakapas)

The climate-controlled, non-denominational chapel at Vermilionville is available only for evening weddings.  Our chapel is a reproduction modeled after churches in Pointe Coupee, LA (1760) and St. Martinville, LA (1773).   La Chapelle seats up to 110 guests (see next page for details).  During the Fall and Winter months, Vermilionville also offers the romantic and memorable Candle Light Trail – a path of old-fashioned wooden lanterns with candles that guide guests to the chapel.

 

Restaurant (La Cuisine de Maman)

The restaurant is fashioned after a plantation overseer’s house and overlooks the scenic Bayou Vermilion.  Depending on your set-up needs, it accommodates up to 70 guests (total of both dining rooms), and makes a wonderful place for wedding rehearsal dinners, meetings, and other small gatherings (see next page for details).

 

FEES

PAYMENT:   Payment of invoice is due in full one (1) week prior to the day of the event!  Open-bar tabs must be secured by a credit card and paid at the end of the event.

DEPOSIT:   A $500 deposit is required to secure the use of any of Vermilionville’s facilities.  $400 is applied to the event balance due.  $100 is refundable 20 working days after event after property is inspected for damage.

Deposit requirements do not apply to regularly scheduled weekly meetings for clubs.

REFUNDS:

(1)   a full refund of $500 will be made if notification of intent to cancel is made 5 months before event,

(2)   $400 if notification is given 4 months before event,   

(3)   $300 if notification is given 3 months prior to event, 

(4)   $200 if notification is given 2 months prior to the event, and  

(5)   $100 if notification is given 1 month prior to the event, and

(6)   no refund for cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled event. 

A full refund will be made if Vermilionville should have to cancel your event because of uncontrollable and/or unforeseen circumstances.

Cost for a full bar w/attendant in the restaurant or at a remote location in the festive area is $150.

Cost for a beer and/or wine only bar w/attendant in the restaurant or at a remote location in the festive area is $100.

 PLEASE NOTE:  Birthday, wedding & groom cakes are the ONLY food items allowed to be brought in for any event.

 NO ONE, INCLUDING CLIENTS, GUESTS AND CONTRACTED OUTSIDE VENDORS MAY BRING FOOD OR BEVERAGES OF ANY KIND TO THE EVENT.

 

Food & Beverage totals are subject to 8% sales tax and a 15% service charge.

Listed prices and fees are subject to change.  Written price quotes are honored for up to one year.

 

CONTRACTED OUTSIDE VENDORS

ENTERTAINMENT / DELIVERIES / PHOTOGRAPHERS

Some time/location restrictions apply to the outside vendors you may choose that will need access to Vermilionville’s property  ( i.e., flower shops, bakeries, DJ services, bands, photographers, etc.) It is the client’s responsibility to have all of their contracted vendors call the Special Events Manager (337-233-4077) at least 2 weeks prior to the event to express their needs and make arrangements.   

Complete privacy for your event cannot be assured until after 4:00 pm.

Vermilionville’s heritage & folklife park officially closes at 4:00 pm.
