Easter comes in the spring, when the earth renews itself after a long, cold winter. And while Easter is identified with spring and rebirth, it is the egg that has come to signify the season, and the Easter holiday itself. Learn about the tradition behind Easter egg dyeing as well as natural dyeing techniques that were used before modern day food coloring was around. Regular admission. Memberships honored. WELCOME

Vermilionville offers several opportunities to tour the Folklife park and enjoy a look back at the past. You can take a self-guided tour of the village with our walking tour brochure that provides you will information about the village. We also offer guided tours at an extra cost that can be for one to two people or for large groups of adults or school children. Large groups should be pre-scheduled in advance.

The park is open for visitors six (6) days per week from Tuesday through Sunday. The Folklife park opens at 10:00 am and closes at 4:00 pm (the admission desk closes at 3 pm). At times, special events are scheduled at different hours; those times will be posted on our calendar with a complete description of the event.

We hope you take the opportunity to enjoy Vermilionville and visit the Folklife park. Whether you are an out of town guest or a local resident the park offers many opportunities for pleasant exchanges between any of the several Artisans who work in the park daily. Take the chance to engage the staff, they are there to help make your visit as pleasant as possible!

Please Note: All of our historic homes and restored buildings are interconnected by hard surface (concrete) walkways and the buildings include ADA compliant ramps to allow for elderly and wheelchair visitors to experience the park. If assistance is needed please speak with our staff and we will do all within our power to accommodate you during your visit.

Hope to see you soon.
